MY World 2030 Advocates Programme: Compendium of SDG Advocacy and Outreach Tools

This guide was designed with a dual purpose. First, to empower the UN and its stakeholders to go beyond “consultations” for the SDGs and be innovative and creative in their advocacy, outreach and communications efforts. Second, to compile and make a wide range of SDG tools and resources accessible to community leaders, social activists, volunteers and many other SDG changemakers, who can in turn engage with the wider community and help realize the SDGs.

Statistical Yearbook for Asia and the Pacific 2017: Measuring SDG progress in Asia and the Pacific: Is there enough data?

The paper "Measuring SDG progress in Asia and the Pacific: Is there enough data?" reviews the availability of data on all proposed global SDG indicators for Asia-Pacific countries and is prepared based on data from the SDG indicators Global Database. It attempts to identify data gaps for regional SDG progress monitoring and for priority setting in statistical capacity building by a range of relevant stakeholders.

Harnessing Science, Technology and Innovation for Inclusive and Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific

Business as usual is not an option if the ambitions of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development are to be met. The scale and depth of the goals require a radically different and disruptive approach—the essence of innovation—along with significant scientific breakthroughs and technological advancements. Science, technology and innovation (STI) have the potential to increase the efficiency, effectiveness and impact of our efforts to meet the ambitions of the 2030 Agenda and create benefits for society, the economy and the environment.

Regional Cooperation for Sustainable Energy in Asia and the Pacific

Countries in the Asia-Pacific region face multiple energy-related challenges, which are driving them to transform their energy systems. First, there is a need to increase energy supply by some 60 per cent by 2035 to meet the growing demand associated with the rapid urbanization, industrialization and economic growth taking place. Second, achieving national energy security is required to protect economies from price fluctuations and market instability and to reduce dependence on imported energy.

The Global Schools Program

The mission of Global Schools is simple; provide the necessary tools and resources for schools and teachers to educate their students on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In working with educators, the program aims to transform learning environments globally and make schools the hubs of education and leadership on the SDGs, ultimately empowering students to prioritize sustainable development in their lifestyles, behaviours, education and professional careers.

Plan of Action Synthesis Report on Integrating Volunteering into the 2030 Agenda in Asia and the Pacific

The findings and recommendations of the reports will be discussed during the regional consultations in the margins of the Annual regional fora on sustainable development. Online dialogues and fora will also provide wider stakeholders to participate and share their views.

Academy Module on "An Overview of ICTs and Sustainable Development"

Today, few will question the capacity of ICTs to serve as enablers of sustainable development that the world community has agreed to work towards by the target year 2030. However, although this capacity of ICTs as enablers has been recognized, there remains fuzziness about the linkage between ICTs and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This module addresses the SDGs through the prism of ICTs.
