Sustainable Development Report 2019

The Sustainable Development Report 2019 presents the SDG Index and Dashboards for all UN member states and frames the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in terms of six broad transformations. It was prepared by teams of independent experts at the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (SDSN) and the Bertelsmann Stiftung.

 

 

Interregional Capacity Development Workshop on DigitalGov Implementation for Sustainable Development

The UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG), and the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) through its Information and Communications Technology and Disaster Risk Reduction Division (IDD), are co organizing an Interregional Capacity Development Workshop on Digital Government Implementation Toolkit for Sustainable Development (DIGIT4SD).

UN SDG:Learn Launch Event

In 2019, UNDESA and UNITAR will be running the fourth edition of the SDGs Learning, Training and Practice Centre, an initiative that aims to showcase recent training and learning products and tools and support knowledge and skill development for delegates attending the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.

SDG India Index - Baseline Report 2018

The SDG India Index, 2018 offers critical insights into the status of SDG adoption and implementation in India. The Index tracks the progress of all states and union territories (sub-national entities) on a set of 62 priority indicators, measuring their progress on the outcomes of the SDG-related interventions and schemes of the government. The SDG India Index is intended to provide a holistic view on the social, economic, and environmental status of the country and its sub-national entities on their SDG status.

The National Institution for Transforming India

The National Institution for Transforming India, also called NITI Aayog, was formed via a resolution of the Union Cabinet of the country on January 1, 2015. NITI Aayog functions as the premier policy think tank of the Government of India, providing both directional and policy inputs. While designing strategic and long term policies and programmes for the Government of India, NITI Aayog also provides relevant technical advice to the states (sub-national entities).

Goal 16 Advocacy Toolkit

Recognizing the critical importance of Goal 16 of the 2030 Agenda on peaceful, just and inclusive societies and accountable institutions, this toolkit provides civil society and other nongovernmental stakeholders with guidance on how to engage with their governments and other local, regional or international stakeholders to support the planning, implementation, follow-up and accountability of Goal 16.

What does it mean to leave no one behind?

With the adoption of the 2030 Agenda, UN Member States pledged to ensure “no one will be left behind” and to “endeavour to reach the furthest behind first”.

This paper advances a framework that governments and stakeholders can use to act on their pledge in a way that enables and accelerates progress to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also seeks to inform the manner in which UNDP works with countries to implement the 2030 Agenda.
