Technical Assistance

ESCAP, through its technical cooperation programme, and in partnership with the UN Country Teams, renders capacity building assistance and advisory services to developing countries, least developed countries (LDC), countries with economies in transition and countries emerging from conflict in their efforts to advance the 2030 Agenda on Sustainable Development and the SDGs implementation.

ESCAP support focuses on:

  •     national follow up and review including through Voluntary National Reviews;
  •     rapid assessment for strategic planning of implementation of the SDGs
  •     integration of the SDGs into national planning and policy prioritization
  •     facilitating stakeholder participation in SDG implementation, follow up and review;
  •     systems thinking analysis and mapping of SDG interlinkages and policies, and visualization;
  •     integrated SDG data collection and monitoring and policy development; and
  •     trade facilitation, integration and LDC graduation.

The programme also promotes sharing of experiences across countries and regions through best practices and peer-learning opportunities; South-South cooperation; and building of community of practices to facilitate exchange and assistance.
