Global database on the Implementation of Nutrition Action (GINA)

Supporting the development, implementation, monitoring and assessment of national nutrition policies and progammes is one of the core activities of the WHO Department of Nutrition for Health and Development (NHD). Monitoring of country progress is being done through the use of the Global database on the Implementation of Nutrition Action (GINA). GINA provides a repository of policies, actions and mechanisms related to nutrition. It is an interactive platform for sharing standardized information on nutrition policies and action, i.e.

The Nutrition Knowledge Hub

Facing the global nutrition challenges, the World Health Organization (WHO) teamed up with the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) to design, under the guidance of the Department of Nutrition for Health and Development (NHD), a Nutrition Knowledge Hub.

By building the technical and functional capacities of all relevant staff at WHO through e-learning courses and key nutrition-related training and knowledge materials, the Nutrition Knowledge Hub aims to contribute to the acceleration and increase of the nutrition impact at the country level.

WHO: Choosing good nutrition - eLENA

This video presents eLENA - an online library of evidence-informed guidelines for an expanding list of nutrition interventions. eLENA is a single point of reference for: latest nutrition guidelines and recommendations; scientific evidence supporting the guidelines; statements on biological, behavioural and contextual rationale; commentaries from invited experts; and related information.

e-Library of Evidence for Nutrition Actions (eLENA)

The WHO e-Library of Evidence for Nutrition Actions (eLENA) is an online library of evidence-informed guidelines for an expanding list of nutrition interventions. It is a single point of reference for the latest nutrition guidelines, recommendations and related information such as: available scientific evidence supporting the guidelines; biological, behavioural and contextual rationale statements; and commentaries from invited experts.

UNICEF Game plan to end open defecation

The game plan outlines UNICEF’s programmatic focus and approaches in sanitation over the next four years to 2021. It will help ensure that ending open defecation receives the deliberate and sustained attention it will require to succeed: without a constant focus on the issue, there is no doubt that both the SDG objectives and UNICEF’s objectives for sanitation (as per Goal Area 4 in the Strategic Plan 2018-2021) will be jeopardised.

Agriculture-Nutrition Community of Practice

The Agriculture-Nutrition Community of Practice (Ag2Nut CoP) is a global network of professionals working on issues pertaining to the intersection of agriculture and nutrition. The group is informal, and facilitates the sharing of information as well as networking among participants. The need for this community arose in June 2010 when several people discovered that they were writing policy briefs for their respective institutions on how to link agriculture and nutrition.

Nutrition & Noncommunicable Chronic Diseases

The e-discussion forum for Nutrition & non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) is a virtual space dedicated to sharing ideas, knowledge and experience on how to make nutrition considerations more central to NCD action on the ground. Of special concern is the high burden of malnutrition in all its forms in low- and middle-income countries.

This e-discussion forum aims to contribute to building programming and policy development capacities of various groups of stakeholders in these countries and globally.

Accelerated Reduction Effort on Anaemia

The Accelerated Reduction Effort on Anaemia (AREA) Community of Practice (CoP) aims to support members of the global community dedicated to improving and scaling up existing methods and strategies for anaemia reduction in a holistic and cohesive manner; and to build consensus for engagement in AREA at the global, regional and national level and commit to the achievement of the Global Nutrition Targets 2025 endorsed by the 65th World Health Assembly.
