KIDsforSDGs is a not-for-profit training academy for a community of SDG advocates across primary schools, secondary schools, and universities in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and mainland China. The founding team are part of businesses or organisations engaged with the World Economic Forum, UN Global Compact, the World Humanitarian Forum, and more. Through their UNITAR Youth Ambassador Asia Pacific Program, Young Changemaker Incubator program and others, they support youth to pursue tangible SDG actions and to develop their own SDG-oriented projects. 

A robust national forest monitoring system (NFMS) enables countries to align their forest policies with up-to-date, reliable, transparent and accessible information. NFMS knowledge and results support countries in their efforts to build confidence in climate actions, and increase the effectiveness and transparency of those actions under the Paris Agreement.

APCW 2021 is accelerating collaboration and integrating climate action into global pandemic recovery. Building back opens an opportunity to address social inequalities and invest in economic development that is good for humanity and nature.

The APCW 2021 Virtual Thematic Sessions take the pulse of climate action in the region, explore climate challenges and opportunities, and showcase ambitious solutions.

This webinar is an effort towards capacity building among youth regarding the impact of climate change on food security as well as steps to tackle and lead a sustainable lifestyles through building resilience, knowledge, and understanding of the crisis of food security.

Google Earth Engine (GEE) for remote sensing applications is quickly becoming one of the most utilized tools in the scientific and decision-making community. GEE provides unparalleled access to large-scale data analysis through cloud computing technology. The online interface allows users to access and analyze stores of NASA Earth data without the need for any locally stored data or software. This training will cover the GEE Code Editor, hands-on exercises on change detection, time series analysis, land cover classification, and accuracy assessment of optical imagery.

4 June 2021 – The world is still grappling with the profound economic, social, and environmental impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. These impacts offer a glimpse of what the land use and agriculture sectors will endure if a systemic transformation towards climate resilience is not achieved by 2030. To tackle this challenge, FAO and UNDP are making sure COVID-19 considerations and green recovery are central to countries’ climate action plans for agriculture.
