The Freshwater Ecosystems Explorer is a free and easy to use data platform. It provides accurate, up-to-date, high-resolution geospatial data depicting  the extent freshwater ecosystems change over time.

A novel tool for flexible spatial and temporal analyses of much of the observed and projected climate change information underpinning the Working Group I contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report, including regional synthesis for Climatic Impact-Drivers (CIDs).

On 22-23 September 2021, the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF) will host the largest global conference on the Amazon Biome, to bring to the fore local solutions to preserve and restore the biological and cultural diversity of the world’s largest humid tropical forest. This event will be held as 40 percent of the Amazon nears the tipping point of irreversibly losing its function as water generating rainforest – a catastrophe for human wellbeing and planetary health that can still be prevented if the world acts now.

The Working Group I contribution to the Sixth Assessment Report, Climate Change 2021: The Physical Science Basis is now out.  The report addresses the most up-to-date physical understanding of the climate system and climate change, bringing together the latest advances in climate science, and combining multiple lines of evidence from paleoclimate, observations, process understanding, and global and regional climate simulations.

The second United Nations Global Sustainable Transport Conference will provide an opportunity to focus attention on the opportunities, challenges and solutions towards achieving sustainable transport worldwide.

Small island nations are highly vulnerable to climate change and natural disasters; among them hurricanes, cyclones, and other violent storms. These disasters can lead to severe flooding, landslides, and, in the worst cases, can result in the loss of life and property. In addition, a rise in the global mean sea level places island nations at a higher risk for permanent submersion of land, coastal erosion, coastal ecosystem loss or change, salinization, and impeded drainage.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations is launching its third edition of the massive open online course (MOOC) “Forests and Transparency under the Paris Agreement.” Developed under the project “Building Global Capacity to Increase Transparency in the Forest sector (CBIT-Forest),” in collaboration with the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
