Assessing the impact of COVID-19 in Asia and the Pacific and designing policy responses: An Excel-based model

COVID-19 is an unprecedented socio-economic crisis and calls for unprecedented policy responses. Asia-Pacific region is no exception.

In this context, an Excel-based model is developed to help countries ensure effective policy design and to align policy responses with the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The model produces a snapshot of the socio-economic situation facing the country/territory, and allows simple policy scenarios to be studied.

Keeping it local: Activating the power of community for climate resilience in Bangladesh

Bangladesh’s fertile land has been key to growth and has offered millions of people a hand out of poverty.

That growth is becoming increasingly precarious as the impacts of a warming planet intensify.

The changes pose a particularly acute threat to the coastal poor, whose livelihoods depend on agriculture and whose homes sit atop the low-lying plain astride the Bay of Bengal.

IPCC Inventory Software

The IPCC Inventory Software implements the simplest Tier 1 methods for all sectors and Tier 2 methods for most categories under Energy, IPPU and Waste Sectors as well as Agriculture categories under AFOLU Sector in the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for National Greenhouse Gas Inventories. The TFI is currently working on making it compatible with the Tier 2 methods for the Land component of the AFOLU Sector.

Emission Factor Database

The EFDB is meant to be a recognised library, where users can find emission factors and other parameters with background documentation or technical references that can be used for estimating greenhouse gas emissions and removals. It is a database on various parameters to be used in calculation of anthropogenic emissions by sources and removals by sinks of greenhouse gases. It covers not only the so-called "emission factors" but also the other relevant parameters.

IPCC: Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories Publications

The publications listed here are the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Task Force on National Greenhouse Gas Inventories's (TFI's) products on methodological guidance to estimate anthropogenic emissions and removals of greenhouse gases. They are intended for national GHG inventories, but they may well be useful also for a wider range of people who are working on SDG 13.
