The ILO sponsors a number of Communities of Practice (CoP) in Asia Pacific to help ILO constituents, donors, partners and others interested in the themes share problems or issues, and access knowledge, expertise and solutions. The CoPs offer cost efficient ways of working, minimize barriers created by geography and time, and provide a collaborative workspace for those with a specialist interest to deliver information, learn and exchange views. The CoPs include: Green Jobs, Industrial Relations, Migration ,Youth Employment, Skills and Employability, and Forced Labour.
This Toolkit aims to help countries in selecting and analyzing value chains for opportunities to improve climate change resilience and reduce gender inequalities.

The UNCTAD Sustainable Freight Transport (SFT) Framework provides a modular step-by-step process that details how to plan, design, develop and implement tailored sustainable freight transport strategies. It offers guidance and practical tools to stakeholders from both the public and the private sector across all modes of transport to evaluate the status quo, promote sustainable freight transport systems and track progress.
In 2015, the United Nations launched the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and corresponding SDGs. To support this programme a Global Indicator Framework was adopted by the United Nations Statistical Commission in March 2017 and subsequently by the UN General Assembly in July 2017. That framework comprises 232 statistical indicators designed to measure the 17 goals and their respective 169 targets.
Bangkok, 14 September 2020 – A new ecolabel launched today by the Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) will help shoppers reduce their environmental impact by identifying rice that has been sustainably produced.
The Gorkha Earthquake that struck central Nepal on 25th April 2015 caused extensive damage to the historic centre of Kathmandu, much of which is inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main palace that houses Hanuman Dhoka’s Palace Museum, as well as numerous temples and traditional Sattals (rest houses) or pavilions, were damaged or destroyed. In many LDC contexts like in Kathmandu, post-earthquake rehabilitation is dependent on the resilience of the communities, and their successful interaction with policy makers, engineers and architects.
The Misool Marine Reserve protects a complex and extremely biodiverse coral reef system in South Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Raja Ampat is an epicentre of marine biodiversity, with 1,632 described species of fish. The reserve is jointly managed by Misool Foundation and Misool Resort. Misool Resort is a private island resort that uses ecotourism revenue to generate a large proportion of the funding for the reserve. Marit and Andrew Miners founded the project in 2005 by forging a powerful partnership with the local landowners and communities.
