SDG8 Decent Work and Economic Growth
This Report supports the process of negotiating a Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration by providing an evidence base on migration in the region, including trends, key issues and recommendations, to feed into the Asia-Pacific Regional Preparatory Meeting for the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly, and Regular Migration. This compact will be adopted in 2018 to help guide the world towards a future in which migration is voluntary, and the rights of migrants are respected for the benefit of all.
The ESCAP Inequality of Opportunity papers place men and women at the heart of sustainable and inclusive development. The papers do so by identifying seven areas where inequality jeopardizes a person’s prospects, namely: education; women’s access to health care; children’s nutrition; decent employment; basic water and sanitation; access to clean energy; and financial inclusion.
The United Nations Special Programme for the Economies of Central Asia (SPECA) was launched in 1998 to strengthen subregional cooperation in Central Asia and its integration into the world economy. The countries of SPECA are Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The Forum is also being supported by the Business Council of Papua New Guinea; the Papua New Guinea Chamber of Commerce and Industry; and the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
New report underscores benefits of shifting from cash to digital payments in corporate supply chains
The United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) developed this toolkit in collaboration with Bankable Frontier Associates (BFA). This work was supported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) through a grant to UNCDF. Implementing the toolkit will inform strategy development and approaches that humanitarian and development agencies may adopt to address unique barriers and constraints, especially those experienced by forcibly displaced people in accessing regulated remittance channels at an affordable cost.
