This upcoming session of the #Youth4ClimateLive Series - Driving Youth Action will facilitate an intergenerational and interactive virtual conversation between policy makers and unstoppable youth at the forefront of creative climate action. This is the third in a series of monthly events hosted by the Italian Ministry of the Environment in collaboration with Connect4Climate – World Bank Group and the office of the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Youth.
Nature Provides us with examples of peace, love and compassion which could be an inspiration for peace education. This workshop is an open platform for discussing the inspiration of peace from nature and leveraging it for Education.
Peace education workshop brings dialogue at its core for appreciating and understanding the importance of harnessing this powerful mantra for a sustainable future.
The workshop would be useful for anyone interested or connected with the peace,education and sustainability sector.
This publication adapts, updates and expands the content of the e-learning course “Strengthening stakeholder engagement for the implementation and review of the 2030 Agenda”, which was developed by the Division for Sustainable Development Goals (DSDG) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) and the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).

The time to address climate change is now. The mean surface temperature of the Earth has risen dangerously and spurred devastating impacts – and not just on natural ecosystems worldwide, but on daily human life. We are currently on pace towards a temperature increase of 4°C or more this century, while scientists and policymakers propose targets of just 1-2°C to avoid the total destruction of the planet.
Climate change, ocean pollution, and disasters from natural hazards have also placed a heavy burden, especially on the poor and vulnerable. Further, these challenges are magnified by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic that has become a global emergency in 2020, requiring forceful action at the national, regional, and international levels. Although it remains uncertain when the COVID-19 pandemic will end, economic and social impacts on the region will be significant.
