Teach The Future Campaign
The Youth 4 Climate Action Project (Y4CAP) delivered a successful workshop to over 1,000 students at Tilak High School in Fiji to raise awareness on climate change, marine ecosystems, the Sustainable Development Goals, and leadership. In continuation of the awareness campaign on good environmental practices, a sandalwood planting exercise was also conducted at the school.

Recycling Plastic Waste into Ecoboats for Fishermen
Madiba & Nature has launched its programme to involve fishermen in the sustainable management of coastal fisheries through community mobilisation around the recycling of marine plastic waste since 2017.
The organisation focuses its program around three major projects in order to have a significant impact and boost the blue economy in the country:
SDG Indicator 14.4.1 - Fish stocks sustainability
This course focuses on SDG Indicator 14.4.1 - Fish stocks sustainability: “Proportion of fish stocks within biologically sustainable levels”. It introduces basic fisheries concepts and definitions, illustrates some technical aspects of classical and data-limited stock assessment and provides detailed guidance on process and tools for the analysis and reporting of the Indicator.
Mangrove Monitoring and Conservation: Philippines
Similar to coral reefs and seagrass, mangroves are extremely biodiverse ecosystems that are critical as nursery grounds for many marine species, including those essential to global fisheries. They purify water, stabilize coastlines, provide protection from storms, and are important sources of food and resources for local communities.

The APWF launched the APWF webinar series as a part of the important preparation process for the 4th APWS.
The objective of the APWF webinar series is to widen and deep-dive into the knowledge of government officials from 49 countries in Asia and the Pacific, including those working in Japanese embassies, and to hold discussions on the latest water and water-related issues from different perspectives.
