All SDGs

ASEAN countries have committed themselves to the implementation of two parallel but interrelated processes: the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 (ASEAN Vision 2025) and the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (2030 Agenda). From the outset ASEAN Member States underlined the complementarity of these two agendas in their efforts to uplift the standards of living of the region’s peoples.

At the global level in 2015 countries set in motion the most far reaching and ambitious development agenda of our time, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In Asia and the Pacific, countries have already begun translating this ambitious agenda into action and many have already set up the national architecture for coordinating and promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). However, the policy transformations required to put countries on track to achieve the SDGs have yet to take shape across this or any other region.

Our World in Data is an online publication that shows how living conditions are changing. The aim is to give a global overview and to show changes over the very long run, so that we can see where we are coming from and where we are today. We need to understand why living conditions improved so that we can seek more of what works.

SDPI was founded in August 1992 on the recommendation of the Pakistan National Conservation Strategy (NCS), also called Pakistan's Agenda 21. The NCS placed Pakistan's socio-economic development within the context of a national environmental plan. This highly acclaimed document, approved by the Federal Cabinet in March 1992, outlined the need for an independent non-profit organization to serve as a source of expertise for policy analysis and development, policy intervention, and policy and program advisory services. SDPI is registered under the Societies Registration Act, XXI of 1860.

The diverse expertise of our federal enterprise is in demand around the globe, with the German Government, European Union institutions, the United Nations, the private sector and governments of other countries all benefiting from our services.

IGES has developed this on-line tool supporting integrated SDG policy making. It allows to visualise the quantified causal links between SDG targets, helps identify potential synergies and trade-offs and enables comparison of country progress and performance over time for nine Asian countries (BGD, KHM, CHN, IND, IDN, ROK, PHL and VNM).

The UNSSC's Volunteer Initiative provides volunteers with a guided framework in order to create simple explainer videos about the 2030 Agenda and its 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Further to its aim of making the sustainable development agenda accessible and comprehensible to a wide range of audiences, the UNSSC Knowledge Centre for Sustainable Development has launched a Primer on Sustainable Development. This 2-page document serves as an entry-point to understanding the 2030 Agenda.
