Where are the Wetlands?

Where are the Wetlands

The grim situation of water in most rural parts of India turns out to be a very real problem for survival. This film takes you to an Indian village, Sisodiyon ka Guda, located in Udaipur (Rajasthan).

Every year the village faces an acute shortage of water which leaves people helpless to deal with livelihoods and routine activities. The water scarcity is blamed on undulating terrain, temperature extremes, and low and sporadic rainfall. There are hardly any reservoirs and water harvesting mechanisms. The varying climatic conditions have posed a great challenge, especially for women.

The land behaviour coupled with climatic pressures prompts you to ask: “Where are the Wetlands?”

This film also presents the efforts of community women to overcome the threat.
