Food security is a measure of the availability of food and individuals' accessibility to it, where accessibility includes affordability.
Market driven agriculture, insufficient crop cultivation area and limited skills of cultivation of nutritious crops are creating food insecurity in the rural areas of Western India.
The film depicts an attempt made to improve food security by developing women’s skills in vegetable cultivation. It was through provision of seeds, green houses and trainings on dryland farming organised by Prayatna Samiti and The Swallows of Finland that the women living in the remote areas occupied by hillocks are able to cultivate diverse, nutritious vegetables and consume them.
