How the Republic of Korea turned the tide on COVID-19 using ICT

Information and communication technologies (ICTs) have played a key role in Republic of Korea's response to fight COVID-19. Cellular broadcasting services, mobile apps & devices, telemedicine, artificial intelligence, and open government data are some of the digital solutions that helped the government in disseminating key emergency information; enforcing social distancing; administering testing; tracing and treating infections. Digital technologies have emerged as the Republic of Korea’s effective tools to combat the spread and impact of COVID-19.

Policy Coherence for Sustainable Development

This course explores approaches to cross-organizational and cross-sectoral policy coherence on the national, regional and international levels, with a view to equipping participants with a sound understanding of why policy coherence is important for achieving sustainable development, what coherent policy making entails, and what are the specific tools, mechanisms and approaches that can be employed to foster policy coherence. Inputs by high-level speakers from the UN System, the OECD as well as think tanks and academia will complement the course.
