Crunching Numbers: Quantifying the Sustainable Development Co-Benefits of Mexico’s Climate Commitments

This report quantifies – and offers concrete evidence of – the co-benefits that can be obtained by implementing the climate agenda in coordination with the sustainable development agenda in Mexico. It measures six priority co-benefits resulting from the implementation of three current and two potential Mexican NDC commitments, and was carried out on behalf of GIZ Mexico and the Mexican Office of the Presidency (OPR).

Adaptation Knowledge Portal Library

The Adaptation Knowledge Portal (AKP) is a product of the Nairobi Work Programme (NWP), the UNFCCC knowledge-for-action hub for climate adaptation and resilience. The AKP aims to provide access to information and knowledge on climate change adaptation, and on the work of related workstreams under the Framework Convention on Climate Change. The AKP builds on the worldwide contributions of policy-makers, practitioners and researchers to offer first-hand information and actionable knowledge for end-users.

National Geospatial Database for Maldives to Mainstream Climate Change Adaptation in Development Planning

This brief discusses the establishment of a geospatial database to help Maldives integrate climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction in development planning.

It explains how technical assistance helped build a geospatial database on coastal and marine ecosystems and how climate risk screening was tested on selected development projects. It highlights lessons and suggests ways forward for policymakers in Maldives.

Negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement – Road to Madrid

Article 6 of the Paris Agreement is generally known as the “markets article.” While broadly correct,
it could more properly be called the “article on international cooperation.” A number of provisions address
specific instances of cooperation that involve using internationally transferred mitigation outcomes

Global Outlook Report 2019

The UN Development Programme (UNDP) and UN Climate Change (UNFCCC) have been working together since 2014 to support countries in developing their national climate plans --Nationally Determined Contributions for the Paris Agreement or NDCs. This report is the most detailed review yet of momentum since the Paris Agreement and is designed to both inspire and inform the UN Climate Action Summit in New York on 23 September.
