SRP Virtual Rice Week: 'Rice, Resilience and Transformation'

-
Virtual Rice Week

The Sustainable Rice Platform’s 10th Annual Plenary will be held as a Virtual Rice Week from 29 March to 2 April 2021.

The event, which also incorporates an Extraordinary General Assembly, is convened as an annual gathering of SRP members and invited partners to take stock of progress, discuss collaborative approaches and share the experiences of SRP members in adopting SRP tools and in scaling impact among rice smallholders.

As we enter an important phase in SRP’s evolution, in terms of Secretariat expansion as well as in rollout of the Assurance Scheme to value chain partners facing unprecedented challenges over the past year, it is fitting that this year’s theme will be Rice, Resilience and Transformation.

Delegates will include SRP members and invited representatives from governmental and international organizations, research institutes, private sector actors and civil society, as well as service providers, development partners and financial actors.

A series of webinar-style events will be held via an integrated web platform that will serve as a portal to access the event. With approximately 20 hours of webinar time dedicated to thematic topics, the daily sessions will feature a mix of keynotes, plenaries and panel discussions.

The new format maximizes flexibility, focus and convenience, enabling participation in any session, without having to select between competing parallel tracks. Participants will also be able to view session recordings at leisure if they are unable to participate live.

The portal also provides easy access to all sponsor, exhibitor, news feed and networking functions, significantly enhancing the range of possibilities for networking and channeling of direct messages, questions and event feedback.
