The Asia-Pacific South-South Cooperation Connector is an interactive virtual platform developed by ESCAP for the benefit of member States in the region and key players of South-South and triangular cooperation. It aims to provide support and facilitate the alignment between offers of technical assistance by providers and the recipients of assistance. The South-South Cooperation Connector also facilitates networking and active collaboration among key players/centers of excellence in the region, including through active working groups/communities of practice.

Consisting of executives and representatives of leading businesses in a wide range of industries and sectors from across the Asia-Pacific region, the ESCAP Sustainable Business Network (ESBN) is set up to drive businesses in working towards the 2030 Sustainable Agenda and the associated Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The ESBN actively engages in promoting inclusive, resilient, and sustainable development through public-private partnerships, launching, and implementing activities/projects to enable the adoption, practice, and implementation of the SDGs.
The Youth Voices for Climate Action (YV4CA) campaign serves as an inclusive platform for youth in the Asia-Pacific region to make their voices heard on climate action. KIDsforSDGs is a not-for-profit training academy for a community of SDG advocates across primary schools, secondary schools, and universities in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and mainland China. The founding team are part of businesses or organisations engaged with the World Economic Forum, UN Global Compact, the World Humanitarian Forum, and more. Through their UNITAR Youth Ambassador Asia Pacific Program, Young Changemaker Incubator program and others, they support youth to pursue tangible SDG actions and to develop their own SDG-oriented projects.
Each youth is asked: “How can the SDGs accelerate our global recovery to build back broader, greener, and stronger?” More than 10 student-led projects are on SDG 13, SDG 14, and SDG 15. These range from: achieving net-zero, biodiversity, circular economy, climate advocacy, and other nature-based solutions. They strive to adopt an inter-generational and multi-stakeholder approach through ongoing engagements with schools, parents, teachers, NGOs, government bodies, think tanks and more, both locally, regionally, and globally.
The SDG 16 Hub was launched in response to an increasing demand for structured and centralised information on SDG 16 and the desire for meaningful and impactful collaboration opportunities. The SDG 16 Hub is not a corporate website, but a hub designed to allow all stakeholders with an interest in SDG 16 to learn about the key pillars related to SDG 16, share knowledge, and collaborate. It includes resources on SDG16 that are produced by UN agencies, governments, other stakeholders as well as multi-stakeholder initiatives.
The ILO sponsors a number of Communities of Practice (CoP) in Asia Pacific to help ILO constituents, donors, partners and others interested in the themes share problems or issues, and access knowledge, expertise and solutions. The CoPs offer cost efficient ways of working, minimize barriers created by geography and time, and provide a collaborative workspace for those with a specialist interest to deliver information, learn and exchange views. The CoPs include: Green Jobs, Industrial Relations, Migration ,Youth Employment, Skills and Employability, and Forced Labour.
The MICCA Programme organises learning events and webinars through ten discussion fora. All practitioners are welcome to join online discussions looking at climate change and agriculture from different perspectives. You too can participate in upcoming events by joining one or more of the fora. The MICCA Programme started to facilitate online communities in 2012. The communities host over 6,300 individual members from different stakeholder groups in over 120 countries. Materials from the online learning events can be found under Resources.
On the UN-REDD Programme Online Collaborative Workspace community space, you can connect with other REDD+ practitioners, join groups, engage in forum discussions, and view a database of UN-REDD Programme technical experts. Reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation (REDD+) is a mechanism developed by Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). It creates a financial value for the carbon stored in forests by offering incentives for developing countries to reduce emissions from forested lands and invest in low-carbon paths to sustainable development.
