UNOSAT Mapping: supporting Humanitarian and Human Rights activities

Operational since 2003, the United Nations Satellite Centre (UNOSAT) Emergency Mapping service provides satellite image analysis during humanitarian emergencies related to disasters, complex emergencies and conflict situations. With a 24/7 year round availability to process requests, a team of experience analysts ensure timely delivery of satellite imagery derived maps, reports and data ready for direct inclusion in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) according to needs, free of charge for UN agencies and humanitarian entities operating in line with UN policies.

CommonSensing: building climate resilience with small island nations

Small island nations are on the frontline of Climate Change’s devastating impacts. With most of their population living on low-laying land, they are specially vulnerable to the threat of rising sea levels, degrading their coastlines, their communities, and their livelihoods. Through the IPP CommonSensing, Fiji, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu, are developing geospatial analysis capacity and are able to set new standards for requesting and reporting on climate funds.

KIDsforSDGs is a not-for-profit training academy for a community of SDG advocates across primary schools, secondary schools, and universities in Hong Kong, the Greater Bay Area, and mainland China. The founding team are part of businesses or organisations engaged with the World Economic Forum, UN Global Compact, the World Humanitarian Forum, and more. Through their UNITAR Youth Ambassador Asia Pacific Program, Young Changemaker Incubator program and others, they support youth to pursue tangible SDG actions and to develop their own SDG-oriented projects.
