ADB, in collaboration with the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) and UN Environment, held a Knowledge Sharing Workshop on Strengthening the Environment Dimensions of the SDGs in Asia and the Pacific on 21–22 February 2018, in Bangkok, Thailand.
The workshop provided participants with an opportunity to exchange experiences and discuss issues and challenges encountered in implementing the environmental dimensions of the SDGs. ADB presented and validated the preliminary results and findings of the TA project’s regional stocktaking, and discussed how 15 of ADB’s DMCs are approaching implementation of select environment-related goals and targets. At the same time, the workshop created cross-country learning and knowledge-sharing opportunities. The workshop also provided an opportunity for participants to share tools, methods, and approaches that could be used to integrate the environmental dimensions of the SDGs into national and local contexts. The workshop was attended by more than 100 participants from government, international organizations, nongovernment organizations, civil society, and private sector from across Asia and the Pacific.
This Knowledge-Sharing Workshop Proceedings summarizes the discussions and information shared during the event.
