Nature-based Solutions Policy Platform

This platform makes information about climate change adaptation planning across the globe openly available, easy and interesting to explore. This initial version showcases adaptation plans in the climate pledges of all signatories of the Paris Agreement of UNFCCC. The platform highlights the prominence of Nature-based Solutions to climate change impacts in global policy and links pledges to the underlying science. The goal is to facilitate the global stocktake of the Paris Agreement and provide a baseline against which changes in ambition for Nature-based Solutions to climate change adaptation can be monitored and increased. The MY World 2030 survey is a tool to hold governments and institutions accountable and make sure every person has their say on SDG achievement.

PREPdata

PREPdata is a free, open source data platform that provides the accessible, curated data that decision-makers need to analyze vulnerability and build climate resilience. It allows users to easily access highly credible climate, physical and socioeconomic datasets from sources like NASA, NOAA, USGS, ESA and more; map them to visualize a specific region’s vulnerability; track the indicators most relevant to their work on customizable dashboards; request that data providers add new tools or datasets to PREPdata; and share their stories with adaptation practitioners around the world. The platform’s wide-ranging datasets include extreme weather events, precipitation, drought and flood risks, social vulnerability, coastal energy facilities, landslides, sea level rise, global urban heat island effect, reservoirs and dams, global cropland extent and more. PREPdata is an initiative of the Partnership for Resilience and Preparedness.

Users can explore, visualize and analyze data on topics from sea level rise to human migration and use the overlay function to learn how these issues intersect. By breaking down traditional silos and understanding intersections between global issues, we can more effectively solve pressing environmental challenges.

The Water Data Portal (WDP), following "one-stop shop" approach, provides access to a large amount of data related to water and agriculture. WDP contains meteorological, hydrological, socio-economic, spatial data layer, satellite images as well as hydrological model setups. The data in the WDP, both spatial & non-spatial, are supported by the standardized metadata and are available for download by user including academia, scientists, researchers and decision makers. However, access is provided in compliance with copyrights, intellectual property rights and data agreements with our partners.

The Atlas of Sustainable Development Goals 2018 presents maps, charts, and stories related to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.  It discusses trends, comparisons, and measurement issues using accessible and shareable data visualizations. The data draw on the World Development Indicators the World Bank's compilation of internationally comparable statistics about global development and the quality of people's lives. For each of the SDGs, relevant indicators have been chosen to illustrate important ideas.

The Human Rights Guide to the SDGs

The Human Rights Guide to the SDGs is a searchable database illustrating the links between the Sustainable Development Goals and more than 70 international human rights instruments, labour standards, and environmental agreements. The Guide illustrates the human rights anchorage of the 2030 Agenda and is an essential tool to develop a rights-based approach to sustainable development implementation, monitoring, and reporting.

The UPR-SDG Data Explorer is a searchable database that links more than 55,000 recommendations of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It allows users to explore how UPR recommendations for specific countries, regions or groups of rights-holders are connected to the 169 targets contained in the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
